Does the AMD Phenom X4 or X3 work with my computer games?
Im using an AMD Athlon 64 X2 3.0 GHz in my custom game rig. If I upgraded to a Phenom X3 or X4, would I still be able to run the games I play such as Team Fortress 2, Counter Strike Source, Crysis, Bioshock, Garry's Mod, Unreal Tournament III, and various other Steam games?

they are all on the same platform of cpu's unlike powerpc cpu and such
as long as the athlon 64 is an AM2 or AM2+ slot you should be more than able to run the phenom x3 and x4 on there..
i just bought a Phenom x4 9950 BE running each core at 2.6ghz and i play every single one of those games and just fyi the CPU intensive games like crysis, garry's mod and other ragdollphysics and other highend physics engines really perform well on x4 cores.
