You have to consider speed when looking at printers, especially if you're going to be printing many pages. If you need to print long documents, a slow printer can be extremely annoying. Due to the fact that they can print a lot of pages in a short time frame, laser printers are probably your best option if speed is of the essence. Speed is usually important if several people need to use the same printer, as at an office.
However, there isn't really any point in shelling out extra cash for a fast laser printer if you print a few pages at a time and only on occasion because speed won't be too important for you. If speed is important to you, be sure to investigate this before you choose a model.
There are many printers to choose from, and you have to think about what you'll be using it for, your budget and the reputation of the brand and model you're considering.
You can find efficient and fast printers that are relatively cheap nowadays because printers have advanced quite a bit in the past few years.
